Below are SOME of the headstones of the Burra Cemetery. In an attempt to save as much space as possible and increase the speed of downloading, only part of the stone is displayed. Flinders Ranges Research has a full photograph of each of these, and many others as well.

The original cemetery was established in 1846 on the other side of the creek. The present one was opened in 1850 with the first burials taking place in 1851. The stone wall which surrounds the cemetery was constructed in 1854.
